I honestly feel seen, heard and awakened.
Yes, it is quite pricey, but it was a lot cheaper than a therapist!!
Would highly recommend.
One of the standout features is the emphasis on understanding. The book goes beyond mere behavioral management, delving into the roots of explosive behavior. By encouraging parents to comprehend the neurological and emotional aspects of ADHD, the author empowers them to respond with empathy and patience, fostering a deeper connection with their children.
Practical strategies take center stage, and the book excels in providing a diverse array of tools for parents. From communication techniques and behavior modification strategies to mindfulness exercises, each method is explained clearly and illustrated with real-life examples. This hands-on approach ensures that parents can implement these strategies with confidence, tailoring them to their child's unique needs.
I strongly suggest and recommend this book for parents.
The author provided important information on how to handle the situation while she gave emotional support as well.
The rechniques and tips on the book are simple and realistic and will be very helpful.
i highly recommend the book.
It is the parents' responsibility to also give a strong support to their kids with such deficiency.
The book covers how to establish routine to be able to regulate the emotion of your kids.
What I like most from the book is that it has provided the list of Best Podcast and Best Phone Apps that we can look into for more information and support. The book has also provided a list of Facebook Support Groups.
Reading this book helped explain a lot of the behaviors behind ADHD. The solutions provided are well rounded and actually worked for my son. I liked how it sheds light on solutions you may have never thought about and also addresses the effects on the entire family, not just the child diagnosed.
I would recommend this book for families with ADHD. This would be a great book for doctors to offer or recommend upon diagnosis.
This book also covers the types of ADHD, commmon symptoms of what to look for, and ask about from your medical team.
Included with these pieces of helpful information would also be techniques focused on helping the child on emotional regulation as with the neurodivergent folks out there know--- that can be an obstacle course in and of itself.
It's also a good book to remind yourself that nothing is wrong with you or your child(ren) just they are just different in how their brain works and how they process reality.
With this book, too, it's giving you the parent/guaridan tools to advocated for the child(ren) in your life so they can be the best version of themselves, too.
I liked how there was an emphasis on how we need to care for ourselves and to ask for help and take a break when needed. These are all important things for a parent in general but even more so when ADHD is in the picture.
This book has a LOT of practical tips that are helpful for children with ADHD and those same things can be applied for non-ADHD kids. There are a lot of good reminders about how we need to be careful that in our own frustration and exhaustion that we don't say things that shame our children. It can almost feel overwhelming with all the content, but it is written in a way with lots of bullets that make it easy to read and easy to go back and reference for specific topics when necessary.
Highly recommend!
It’s highly practical in structured with so many easy to implement suggestions.
Highly recommended.
There were a lot of practical ideas to help a family dynamic be set up to function day to day for the success of EVERYONE in the family including siblings of the ADHD child and the main caregivers.
Another part of the book focused on setting your kiddo up for success in social settings with various self-monitoring skills to practice and learn. A lot of real life practical examples are given to help clarify. There was also a lot of great material to help you advocate for your child in school settings such as: what to ask for, and what your legal rights are.
The author also addresses how to navigate the different medication and non medication options with pros and cons for each. This is a very detailed and helpful section.
Highly suggest!!
